Located in a pleasant wooded area. Good clear pathways for the majority of the walk. Some small inclines to negotiate.
Our first cache. Not big or too hard to find. (We hope)
Just off Therfield Heath in a lovely wooded area.
The undergrowth may cover the area during the summer months and nettles can be a problem when you move off the path. (The local deer keep some nice convenient paths clear near the site.)
Limited nearby parking is available at 52°02.428N 000°03.116W at the roadside.
A formal car park, slightly further away, is available at 52°02.635N 000°03.170W
The walk takes you through a public nature reserve. Dogs are welcome but at some times of the year sheep may be grazing in the area. If you park in the formal parking area indicated you will have to cross part of a golf course. (Not dangerous if care is taken and you look both ways !)
The area is usually quite busy at weekends so you may need to be inventive to avoid the attentions of muggles.....
I've taken several readings at the site and calculate an average from several readings at the cache but believe I've only got accuracy down to approx. 20 Feet.
Please take pictures if you can when visiting.
The cache is quite small but room is available for smaller items to be added.
