This cache is located a couple of miles in on Sloane Canyon Road. That is a county maintained dirt road. It is a little washboardy for the first block or so but after that it is beautiful! It is not necessary to cross the riverbed at the cache site.
I cannot explain these phenomena, understanding they are man made and pretty old. I kind of like it but it is wrong for many reasons. It’s worth the trip. There is a nice parking pullout just prior to the trail head. Make sure to stop at "Sloane Canyon Road" GCJXE3 cache on the way in. The trail head starts next to a rock on the road and there is no bushwhacking required but you have to climb over some rocks.
