Not Far From Cracked Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BlueRajah: I am archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Please notice that I asked you some time ago to check this cache, and no action was taken. I had hoped that the cache may be replaced, or a note placed that you were going to go check on this cache in the near future.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the next three months please contact me, and assuming it meets the guidelines, I will be happy to unarchive it.

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

10/25/07: After years of dealing with low quality cachers stealing, breaking, plundering, and misplacing my caches, I'm exhausted. I have tried to provide quality, creative, and original caches for over six years, costing me a good amount of time and money. Sometimes the only reward is yet another cut n' paste log from a numbers-obsessed cacher. Coupled with the ongoing damage at my caches, it just ain't worth it and it's not fun. I will continue my normal maintenance visits but I am now archiving all my caches if they are again ruined by LQCs (or if the cache is controversial in any way). This process may be quick or long depending on the cachers that come here. For the enjoyment of future cachers, please take care of this cache just as indicated below to help preserve this hide. I do send a BIG thanks to all the high quality cachers who have helped support me and my caches through the years. Much appreciated! -CoolCache

If you found Cracked it'd be a crime not to mosey on over to this one. There are several places to enjoy a lunch on the trail but few will afford you the solitude and view of this place. Bring a pad to sit on to be comfy and you can just ditch the bikes about 50' off the trail. Keeping an eye on them will be easy.

In summertime you'll have to wade through some sock stickers so CoolCache heartily recommends some trekking gaitors (pic) to minimize your "take." Fall and winter strides should be relatively sitcker-free.

Later I'll update the cache size to accomodate trades. Log only for now and if you must leave something please make sure it's tinsy tiny and preferably flat (hint).

>>>>> 5/4/05: Please hide all caches in their original locations.. the original container to this one was gone with the wind. I wasn't planning on updating the container this soon but I these circumstances moved up the time line. I did that today. Container is now a full sized ammo box and well hidden. It'll be a secure place for TBs also along this trail. Please tradely not just fairly, but "high" and no geogarbage of any kind here. Also please mark your trade items with your name; good traders will be acknowledged on cache maintenance visits.

>>>>> 11/11/05: The all encompassing "terra-forming" seems to be nearing an end at the cache site and the resulting wetlands should be nice. As such the cache was replaced and upgraded again. Necessity is the mother of invention: cache is now sub-terranean for its survival. Terrain upped .5 and hint is very specific. Same trade guidelines. "Not Far From Cracked" now provides some surprisingly commanding view of the area, the valley, and often the migrating geese overhead. It's bit more of a trapse but that was made necessary by the construction.

Welcome to paved trail caching!
CoolCache says there are few caching experiences as fun as a paved river trail: scenic views, good privacy for searching, great productivity, and they allow for some fun biking or xootering while bringing your "dog friend" along (my dog friend). Great exercise for her, great caching for you! While on the trail and in addition to several others, check out all the CoolCache hides, listed below north to south. Launch points can either be 126th South or 146th South at the "Spring View Farms" trail head with good parking available at both locations. Cache on!
