To get to this cache you can approach from several different
trails. You may want to pick up a trail map. Closest parking is
from Graham Hill Road, Henry Cowell State Park, south entrance to
Pipeline Road -OR- start at the Powder Mill Trailhead from the
Graham Hill Rd parking. Coming from Powder Mill Trail you can pick
up "Big Ole Steps" along the way, and afterwards find our new "The
Livestrong Trip", all three on Powder Mill Trail.
- Keep on the trails until your gps says you are at least 50’
from the cache before leaving the hard pack equestrian trail . Your
satellite lock will not be good so a little owl has been posted in
the clearing to show you entered in the correct place. You should
see him easily from a bushy south side trail. Please do not let
children handle the owl, so it will be there to guide others. There
is no poison oak in this area that I could find.
- Look for a cache big enough for a racoon to sleep in, so after
you find it PLEASE fasten the lid tightly.
- Be watchful of occasional horseback riders and hikers that may
see or hear you. The cache site is somewhat in view of the trail.
This is your opportunity to leave LARGE trade items and
Travel Bugs! The log book items are in a ziploc
bag with the smaller treasures.
Aug. 17, 2008: The hints and hide were changed due to the natural
changes in this location. New coordinates were also posted today.
