Girls Rule Traditional Cache
drossdross: I returned from an extended vacation to find that this cache has once again been muggled. Originally this area didn't get enough traffic to be a problem, but apparently that's just not the case now. Hopefully someone else can use this real estate to put in a worthy, and more stealthy, cache.

This cache was hidden with my daughters Katy and Becca with their friend Kellie. When both boys and girls are in the caching group, my girls are betting that this cache will be found first by girls. After all, Girls Rule! So note who was first in your group to make the find. Of course everyone is welcome, but this cache is particularly suited, and initially stocked, for the kids 12 and under.
When we found the nearby See Jack Run cache, I was surprised to learn of the size of White Oak Park. It looks tiny at first glance, rushing past on main roads. But when you start to travel around this park you realize it’s big, with multiple areas and accesses. And with all the play areas and toys, it’s high time that kids be drawn here to do some geocaching on the side.
This is a simple cache that parents can let their kids solve. Start by parking at the “Popular” Grove Parking Area (all the groves are named for trees, and all have nice signs clearly identifying them). Then hang back as your young cachers rake the woods for hidden treasure.
If the kids still need to burn off some energy afterwards (and, knowing kids, chances are they will), stop at any of the many playgrounds in the park and let the fun begin.
It’s important to note that this section of the park is only open dawn to dusk. So make sure you’ve got sunlight to complete your find, or you’ll have to put up with the crying all the way home (even more so if you have kids).
