Located behind the school on #209 in Phippsburg. If the school is not in session you can park there- otherwise park across the road in the Town Hall lot.
Enter the ballfield on the right hand side and exit the gate marked with red tape on the west side by first base outfield. This will put you on a trail into the woods. Cross two little bridges. Here you will have a choice. There are three blue trails- all three connect to a red trail ( where the geocache is). The left blue is a southerly loop returning through the middle blue, not too well marked. The right blue is a northerly loop also returning through the middle blue trail. The right trail has the most to see (turkeys, beavers, old cemetary, huge ledges etc.). The middle blue trail is semi straight uphill to the red trail. The red trail takes you westerly to the top of a large rock named "Kids Rock" by the children at the school.
Plan on an hour at a leisurely pace. You will cross streams and rock walls- a typical woods walk. Note: Mosquitos are fierce! Small children will not like this trail until after bug season.
You are looking for a 1/2 gallon container covered in brown duct tape, close to the trail. The west coordinate stayed consistant but the north jumped around some so we used an average. Good luck!
