This is one of 6 micro caches taking you on a walking tour around Mount Vernon. There is no longer a connection with a final puzzle cache.
This series of caches was placed as a gift for my granddaughter’s 10th birthday in 2005. It was almost a year earlier that she made the request and suggested doing a puzzle that needed to have people put pieces together to find the solution. I hope you enjoy the caches – she will be watching for your logs. While the final puzzle cache has been archived, the micro caches remain to be found.
This cache site is the beginning of what I suggest as a 1.4 mile walking tour in the delightful little town of Mount Vernon. Walking may actually take less time than driving and parking at each site. The suggested route:
1. park at N 48° 25.036 W 122° 20.036 or across the street depending on available space
2. cross streets to the NE side of I-5
3. walk back west along Kincaid and go south on Cleveland
4. walk back north on Cleveland to Broadway, go west to the boardwalk
5. walk north along boardwalk under the bridge
6. continue north to cache site and then east to 1st, which turns into Cleveland
7. go south on Cleveland through the heart of town and go east on Gates
8. at cache site #6, you will be just a bit north of where you parked your car.
