In this multi-cache there are 2 different sets of formulas to get
to the final waypoint. The 1st waypoint (N 29 43.493 W 095 36.767,
as stated above) will be used to find the final West coordinates,
but not the final North coordinates. The degree value for both the
North and West coordinates are the same as waypoint one.
North Coordinates
First, you'll need to find the numerical placement in the alphabet
for each letter of the name of the street you turn down to get to
waypoint one. For instance, if one of the letters in the name is
"u" (which its not) the numerical placement for that letter is
"21". Meaning it's the 21st letter in the alphabet. However, if it
is a 2-digit number...you must find the sum of that number. So in
the case of the letter "u", the correct numerical placement will be
"3". If it's not a double-digit number, use the single digit
placement value. This is a 2-word name, so place a decimal point
between the 2 sets of numbers.
Next, find the sum of the 2 sets of numbers individually. For
instance if the numbers are 123.123 the sum is 6.6.
Final Waypoint North Coordinates
Take the sum that you got from the numerical placement formula and
add 13 to the number before the decimal point, then add 495 to the
number after decimal point. This number will be your final waypoint
North coordinates.
West Coordinates
For the West coordinates there are 2 processes.
For the first part, you'll need to find the numerical placement
in the alphabet for each letter of tx_secsy's birthday month, as
you did with the street name above. Then find the sum of all the
numbers you come up with. Subtract 1 from the sum of these numbers.
For instance, if tx_secsy’s birthday is in May (which its not) the
formula would be as follows:
4+1+7=12-1=11
11 would then become the numbers before the decimal point in the
West coordinates (which its not).
For the numbers after the decimal point, go to the waypoint one
and you will see a number. Take this number and add 697 to it. This
number is the last part of the West coordinates.
I started it with all kinds of goodies, including a
geocoin…something for the whole family. However, the lucky FTF gets
a gift card from Big Lots to use to buy stuff for the next cache
they plant!!
