Geocache Description:

Cache is located on top of Beehive Mountain, Elev. 4576 ft.

Park at the gate at N47 19.760 W120 24.020.

I took this picture from the summit looking west.

Beehive Mountain Lookout was established with an L-5 cab in 1931. An 18' pole L-4 tower replaced it in 1940. It was taken out of service and disassembled in 1973, but the spectacular view is still there. All that remains of the lookout is one concrete footing and the foundation of a storage building.

On April 24, when we hid the cache, we could hear turkey down on the ridge below us. Some of the points of interest seen from the top are: Mission Ridge, Beehive Reservoir, H&H Reservoir, The Enchantment Peaks and Cascade Range, The Columbia River and Wenatchee Valley, Wenatchee Heights and Jumpoff Ridge. The hike to the lookout point is an easy 0.6 miles. It's a nice hike the whole family will enjoy, even small children. They might be amazed by all of the frogs croaking in the little pond you pass on the way up. It sounded like hundreds of them.
