Chickasha ! Has An Airport ??? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

KandsWife: Time to say goodbye to this kache! It's had a good run!
Robert has lived there for 40 years and has retired and moved away.
Even though Robert said to leave the cache active because it's on the right of way, I figured the next people to move in may not want Cachers lurking around so close to their house.
A big Thank You to all that have visited!!!

Geocache Description:

This cache is located across the highway from the Chickasha Municipal Airport, in front of my Father-in-law’s yard. His name is Robert, and you have his permission to search for it. If you happen to see Robert going about his daily activities, take a minute to say hello. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. He made the comment: No one will visit this cache, way out here.

Just to the south, is Dusters & Sprayers. They have been making Stearman aircraft parts since 1951.
The May 3, 1999 tornado did a number on this place. The paint storage shed ended up in Moore.

A little Stearman History:
The Stearman aircraft nicknamed the “Yellow Peril” thanks to its somewhat tricky ground handling characteristics. The Stearman is one of the most easily recognized aircraft, its simple construction, rugged dependability and nimble handling made the Stearman much loved by those who flew and trained on it. The Stearman Kaydet, as it was officially named, was the only American aircraft used during World War II that was completely standardized for both Army and Navy use as the PT 13D (Army) and N2S-4 (Navy). Sold by the thousands after World War II, the Stearman has had a long and full career as a trainer, crop duster, and air show performer. The name “Stearman” is so widely known that it has become the generic name for almost all currently flown biplanes. It is truly a classic.

When trading items, please try and stick with the aircraft theme.

Congratulations to Mike, of Team Madog on a verrry quick FTF, just minutes after it was posted.
