Geocache Description:

A quick visit to the Jurassic garden in Kinburn Park, St. Andrews

The Jurassic Garden was created by geoHeritage Fife using plants whose ancestors grew on Earth during the Jurassic period (180 million years ago). It is a fairly recent project so the plants have not yet established to their full extent!

Nearby parking at St. Andrews Museum (you are only meant to use this if visiting the museum though!), or there are well-signposted Pay and Display car parks just to the east of the Park).

The co-ordinates above are for the information board in the middle of the garden. All answers, except for F, can be found on this board.

A = How many leaves (on stalks) are present in the picture next to the information about Ginkgos?

B = How many “leaflets” (pinna) are on the picture of the fern: 2?

C = There is a country mentioned in the information about Monkey Puzzles - how many letters are in its name?

D = There is a date mentioned in the information about mosses. Which digit appears twice in the numeral part of this date?

E = There is a Jurassic plant which cannot be grown here because it would take over the garden. How many letters are in its name?

F = How many large stones make up the display of mosses and lichens?

Cache can be found at:

N56 20.D(B - C)(A + B)
W002 48.F(E - C)(A + F)

This park can get very busy at times but hopefully you won‘t get caught retrieving the cache!

Cache container is a 35mm film canister containing a small pencil and paper. The new hiding place is more exposed than the last one so please hide the cache carefully when you replace it.
