NORSK UTVANDRERMUSEUM er Norges eneste landsdekkende museum viet den norske utvandringen til oversjøiske land. Museet har to avdelinger:
Friluftsmuseet består i dag av 6 bygg, flyttet hit fra USA.
Forskningssenteret inneholder foruten resepsjon; bibliotek (med tusenvis av bøker, brev, fotografier), emigrasjonsarkiv, lydbånd, mikrofilmer og en samling gjenstander.

- Normanhuset (N60°47.240 E011°07.440) er fra 1873. Det har vært brukt som bolig, kirke, postkontor, skole, samfunnshus og kommunehus. Huset ble flyttet til Norge i 1972, og fant sin plass her på Utvandrermuseet i 1955.
Hvor mange vinduer har huset (begge etasjer)? = A.
- Gundersenstua (N60°47.295 E011°07.390) Knut Gundersen fra Krødsherad bygde dette huset omkring 1884. Da han giftet seg med Maria Ramstad i 1888 flyttet de inn i hans lille tømmerstue. Her bodde Maria og Knut med sine barn til 1894. Etter det ble stua brukt som sommerhus. Hvor mange vinduer har huset? Svar = B.
- Oak Ridge Lutheran Church (N60°47.340 E011°07.270). Kirkene var sentrale elementer i livet til de norske i Amerika, både som religiøse og sosiale møtesteder. Her står du utenfor inngangsdøra til den vakre "Norwegian Emigration Memorial Church" som opprinnelig het "Oak Ridge Lutheran Church" og sto på et høydedrag utenfor byen Houston i Minnesota. Kirken ble flyttet til Norge i 1996. Restaureringsarbeidet tok tid, og først i 2002 ble den vigslet slik den nå står, som minnekirke for den norske utvandringen. I løpet av sommersesongen holdes det et par gudstjenester i kirken. Se program for 2012.

The Norwegian Emigrant Museum is Norway’s only national museum devoted solely to emigration. The museum has two sections:
The open air museum comprises at the moment 6 buildings, including The Norwegian Emigration Memorial Church, brought ”home” from USA.
The research senter including besides the reseption a library (tousands of titles, letters, photographs), emigrant agent archives, tapes, microfilms and artefacts related to emigration.

To find the cache you must visit three of the buildings in the Open air museum.
- The Norman Cabin (N60°47.240 E011°07.440) was built in 1873. It has served as parsonage, church, schoolhouse, town hall and post office. The cabin was moved to Norway back in 1955, and then placed here in Hamar in 1972.
How many windows has the cabin (both floors)? = A.
- Gunderson Cabin (N60°47.295 E011°07.390). Knut Gundersen built this small log cabin. He and his wife Maria used to live here the first years after their marriage in 1888. How many windows has this house? Answer = B.
- Oak Ridge Lutheran Church (N60°47.340 E011°07.270). The churches played an important part to the emigrants from Norway and other countries. They was used as religious as well as social meeting places. You are now close to the main entrance of the beautiful "Norwegian Emigration Memorial Church", originally named "Oak Ridge Lutheran Church". It was built on a ridge outside Houston, Minnesota by the Norwegian Ole Haraldsen. After having been unused from 1967 to 1994 the church was dismantled and shipped to Norway. It arrived the museum in 1996. The rebuilding process was finished in 2002; and the church was rededicated as the Norwegian Emigration Memorial Church. During the summer season a couple of services find place in the church. View the 2012 program.
Above the door, on the steeple, you find the year of construction for the church. The two last digits = C.
