A pleasant walk along the Bike Path in Bettendorf. This will take you 2 miles of walking or riding to complete plus puzzle solving time!
Each micro contains a puzzle. There are three puzzles you must solve to get to the final cache. The final cache is a small Rubbermaid container (7x5x3). Go to the listed coordinates to find the first puzzle. There you will find a ½ cup Rubbermaid container containing three or four dice. Each individual die has letters and a value in the lower right. There is also a clue in the container and a formula for finding the next coordinates.
Here is how you solve the puzzles:
Take the dice and form a word which fits the clue. The clues are common words (the example is not a common word). You then need to assign a value to each letter in this manner: A=1, B=2, …, Y=25, Z=26. Use these values to calculate the sum (S) which is used to calculate the next coordinates.
An example:
The clue is “Scandinavian Nobleman (11)”.
You find four dice in the cache.
You rearrange the dice to spell “JARL”.
Each letter has a subscript number. Add these numbers to help you figure out the word.
"J" has a subscript "8"
"A" has a subscript "1"
"R" has a subscript "1"
"L" has a subscript "1"
Adding these together you get "11" which matches the number in parentheses from the clue.
Now, assigning letters to the word you found where A=1, B=2, ..., you get the following:
J=10, A=1, R=18, L=12; Sum=S=41.

[7*S+26] =247+26 = 313
[16*S+33] = 656+33 = 689
Go to N 41° 32.313, W 090° 29.689 for the first stage!
