Geocache Description:

Located on a site of a Creek Indian village overlooking the Chattahoochee River.

Many Creek Indian legends and myths have their origin in the Indians’ relationship with the water. They bathed ritually in water each morning, totally submerging themselves four times. This was done on every day of the year, winter and summer. They also associated many strange creatures with water. One of the most curious and powerful was the Tie-snake, Estakwanaya. It lived in deep pools and sometimes captured and drowned swimmers or dragged them down into underwater caverns that were, in effect, miniature villages and towns. On land the Tie-snake traveled by a series of jumps and flips. Although short, the Tie-snake was very strong, being able to carry a man or horse on its back.

This hunt is for bikers or serious hikers. It will require a ride or walk of about ten miles round trip starting at the Bay Avenue entrance to the Columbus River Walk.

The first two caches in this series are micro military match boxes attached with magnets. The third cache is a tupperware box.
