Easy parking and short walk over uneven ground.Less than 150 feet.
The Connor Hotel was a landmark in Joplin Missouri for many years. May movie stars from the 1920-1940's stayed in the Connor while on tour of the Country with live openings of their movies. It was the star of the Hotels in the 4 state area. It had a marble grand staircase with a huge chandelier.A grand Ballroom topped the Hotel that stood at 4th and Main in Downtown Joplin.
As the years passed and The great boom of Lead and Zinc mining was over the Connor Hotel was not the center of Social life with the urban movement. She was scheduled to be torn down by implosion.All was going to schedule when the building came down, except for the fact that 3 people were in the building at that time. In the rush to try and save the three they had to have a place to put the rubble in a hurry. This is the Connor Hotels final resting place. May she rest in peace and be visited by Geocashers for years to come.
