Hidden Coast Traditional Cache
Nomex: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

This is one cache where the journey is the destination. It takes you to a hidden section of the Pacifica coast with amazing views, beautiful vegetation, and an island of solitude amidst coastal urbanization.
The only way to reach this cache, to my knowledge, is to park in a small turnout off Highway 1 at N37°35.117' W122°30.354' and hike up the trail from there. It's about a mile to the cache. I tried to find access from the Pedro Point residential neighborhood and there isn't any (unless there's a hidden trailhead that I missed).
This area is known as the Pedro Point Highlands, and was an off-road vehicle area for years. The tracks and ruts are still visible. The land now belongs to the California Coastal Conservancy, which is slowly restoring the area to its natural state, and planning to build a section of the California Coastal Trail through here.
The cache location offers a comfortable area overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and the Linda Mar beach and neighborhood. Views extend north along the coast to San Francisco, Marin and Pt. Reyes. An incredible spot that you may have driven by dozens of times without knowing it was here.
