This cache is on the 119th west meridan, on the slopes of Frazier Mountain. Has a nice view of Lockwood Valley and Mt . Pinos.
The 119th meridian goes north through Bakersfield, Porterville, Edison Lake, Bodie State Park ghost town, Mono Lake, and Albreda, Canada, then the north pole, of course. Going south it goes through Camarillo, and hits the coast at Point Mugu State Park; the next land it hits is Marie Byrd Land in Antarctica.
To get there head for the top of Frazier Mountain, where there are more caches . Look for the Chuchupate ranger station sign, off of Lockwood Valley Road. Go by the Campground, and head up, if you go by the second gate, you missed it. It's about 20 feet higher than the road. Hike up the hill, starting near a watercourse. The road is subject to closure in the winter, at the ranger station. The road is paved to the campground and dirt thereafter -- some potholes and water courses. Be careful with grandpa's DeSoto but any more capable vehicle should have no problem. USFS has done some repairs recently.
Cache is a camo'd peanut butter jar hanging in a bush. Original contents included two foreign coins, a Thunderbird sticker, some first-aid supplies, some miscellaneous trinkets and a wheresgeorge.com dollar bill.
