The original cache was washed away in a flood. It has now been
replaced. As you find the cache site, you will see that the area,
the paths, have just been rebuilt after the flood. The cache is in
the same original place. The new 'original' contents are:
- bottle opener from stockholm
- Jeep TB
- UK 2p coin
- Badge from Swansea Maritime Museum (from 1983!)
- Ladybird softbug keyring
It can be done several ways. It is close to these parking
coordinates: N49°53.279, E008°37.018
... where there is also a bus stop (busses 5513, 5506, 5515).
Or you can go the longer way (which I did) - a walk or cycle
from 'Waldfriedhof' (strassenbahn linie 9). Cycling this way takes
about 10 minutes along forest tracks, walking maybe 30 minutes.
Many other routes are possible.
The cache is a small plastic box. The original contents
were:
- Logbook, pencil and pencil sharpener
- a -,05 stamp
- a set of the minor UK coins (1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p)
- 2 x 'Winnie-the-Pooh' plasters
Final note: this cache is suitable for children - BUT - watch
them close to the river! It is not normally deep, but is not easy
to get out if you fall in! After rain it can rise very quickly and
be deep and fast! Achtung!
Updated 14'5/05, following the storm (thanks Andy)
Update 11'5/2005: Aradilla and Carhu report that bus 'F' is also
useful!
