Blacravin. Cacheprowler. And now, as I type this, the unfortunate
and most unwelcome reappearance of Mr. Nail.
Cougars. Bears. Who knows what else.
What's this park coming to?
Well, for those who may have forgotten what a geocache looks
like: THIS IS A GEOCACHE. It isn't a capsule, or a
keyholder, or a film can. It's not buried, thrown in a briar patch,
submerged in water or shaped like a rock. It's a largish Lock 'n'
Lock, reasonably camouflaged to avoid unintended discovery, and it
contains not only paper for you to write on, but also toys and
other marginally useful trinkets (what we used to call swag around
here when people used to place actual geocaches). The terrain
rating is actually higher than the difficulty rating!
And it's not even as difficult to get to as the terrain rating
suggests - the rating system just skews wimpy. Just park at Moss
Lake Park and follow the main trail until you hit a spur to the
right (at N47 41.368 W121 50.498); take that until you find a place
to jump off and find the cache. Or keep going and find even nicer
things.
