Geocache Description:

*** Come join the fun at Wisconsin Geocaching Association HERE *** This is a series dedicated to all of our favorite little Fishin’ holes out there. These are Public Access lakes around Manitowoc County.

*** Come join the fun at Wisconsin Geocaching Association HERE *** So often we forget about these well hidden, quaint fishing holes. Many of use, not native to the area, don’t even realize they exist. On this adventure, I would like to offer you a chance to visit, find a quick cache then sit and stay a while, to enjoy the view. It is a chance to catch a cache and catch a fish. Hope you enjoy!!! Gass Lake is 6 ½ acres in size and has a maximum depth of 24 feet. It is a spring fed lake with no shoreline development. The access road leading to the public boat launch facility and parking area are blacktopped. Parking barriers and a gate over the entrance road have been installed. This access has a combination fishing and launching port-a-pier with a small picnic area containing a table and grill. Parking space is available for 8 car/trailer units. The access is barricaded during the winter because of the steep access road. This lake is best known for large mouth bass, but panfish including bluegill, perch and crappies are also found here. Use of motors, except electric motors, are prohibited. See Web page link for map of lake.
