Easy cache, close to the Hwy 50/Folsom Bl off ramp. Park at the light rail lot at Iron Point Rd. and Folsom Blvd. 38.38.631N, 121.11.470w (about 0.4 mile from the cache). If you haven't been here before you are in for a treat. You will have beautiful views of Lake Natoma and there are picnic tables along the way. This is the portion of the lake where they do the rowing races.
This is our second travel bug cache in the Folsom area. The other is still active as the MyFolsom.com Travel bug connection. We placed second one because some suggested a travel bug cache close to a freeway off ramp might be more appealing.
As with the other cache, this cache is intended to facilitate the movement and missions of travel bugs. We’ve experienced the frustration of missing (unknown location) and stalled travel bugs so we thought the Sacramento area needed a cache to aid in their movement. Think of this as a junction for bugs headed in different directions. They’re just trying to find a new ride. To make the Travel Bugs work more smoothly, please follow these simple rules:
1) Read the travel bug’s information before taking it and please don’t take it unless you can assist in the mission, goal or task.
2) Don’t take the travel bug if you won’t be able to place it in a new cache quickly (preferably two weeks or less).
3) Be sure to immediately log that you picked up the travel bug then log it again when you place it in a new cache and follow the instructions to link the bug to the cache.
4) If possible post pictures (cute and or clever are usually preferred)along with a tale. Everyone will appreciate it.
5) Geocaching.com allows you to “watch” the bug you’ve placed. This makes the whole thing more fun.
6) It is our belief that most caches and travel bugs are lost because of muggles. For this reason we have tried to find a location to minimize muggle problems but it still will require some caution on your part.
7) Let me know it you have any other suggestions for improving the movement of travel bugs.
The original cache has four travel bugs in it. Please help them fulfill their mission.
