Zo-El Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Iowa.Landmark: This cache is being archived, at least temporarily, to allow publication of a new series of geocaches placed by, and sponsored by Warren County Conservation and naturalist Logan Roberts. Please feel free to contact Ms. Roberts via e-mail to loganroberts [at] warrenccb [dot] org if you have any questions.

Warren County Conservation has placed a new set of themed caches in public areas managed by WCCB and related agencies. These caches, in their second year, are likely to become an annual feature in the county but they will only be available from April into November. It may be possible to have this cache unarchived in November so that it can be available for cachers to find in the winter months. If you wish to pursue this option please coordinate with Ms. Roberts and inform me (Iowa.Landmark) as well.

Ms. Roberts may be able to assist you with retrieval of your geocache container and log whether or not you elect to have it unarchived for winter. Please contact her for assistance if needed.

Warren County would like to encourage geocaching in the lands they manage, but with a little more oversight than in the past. To that end the WCCB has published requirements for geocache placement at the bottom of their geocaching web page at http://www.warrenccb.org/geocaching. The policy and permit form can also be obtained directly at http://www.warrenccb.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Warren-County-Geocaching-Policy1.pdf.

Thank you for your attention and understanding. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Geocache Description:

Zo-El Annette Woods

I was a resident of Iowa when this park was created and lived near its location for 17 years. I am sure it is a little-known gem and the park has recently been revitalized so I'm sure you will enjoy your visit. Please take care in the replacement of this cache to help prevent it from becoming "lost"!

About the park:

"In 1983 Ellis Annett donated this ten acre woodland near Martensdale to the Warren County Conservation Board as a memorial to his late wife Zona and also in memory of his mother.

Zo-El Annett Woods features a winding trail that climbs to the back of the park, crosses a long suspension bridge and then descends back to the trail head, affording the hiker a beautiful stroll through a lovely woodland park."
