Geocache Description:

A good walk in terrific high-plain country

The cache is a smallish plastic bottle ten paces to slightly-east-of-south from the site of the coords, at the base of a tree.

A guy called Pether built a couple of huts in this locality and lived here from time to time... (visit link) has a photo, but nothing else. Pethers is mentioned in Klause Hueneke's 'Huts of the High Country', but only in passing.

Check out the position on a topographic map first, to discover the easiest route. If you get to where the Peppercorn Fire trail comes out onto Long Plain, you'll find a nice little track which will take you straight there.

If you're a stranger to this part of the world you might be mystified by huge piles of horse dung here and there... horsey people tell me that brumbies, and there are plenty of them is this area, come to add their load to certain spots, some sort of social branding.

Have a great day!
