There is a rock garden with
a planter at the opening to Fallon Drive. The old grader that
adorns it is for public inspection. This isn't as hard as some of
Holth's Tank micros, but similar in that respect.
This road was created by
Broome County Public Works employees back in 1982-83 one truckload
of dirt at a time. It was hard, hot, skeeter-bitin' work to
put this road through the swamp. The only other entrance to
the Highway garage back then was through a residential
neighborhood. The numerous complaints of loud trucks passing
by every morning prompted Broome County to approve the creation of
this road. It 's a testament to the men who built it.
It is named after William "Bo" Fallon. He was the
Commissioner of Public Works at the time and he was a fair and hard
working man in his own right. This cache is dedicated to
Bo.
(This has nothing to do with the cache...just a little
history.)
