Hunting for this cache will take approximately 1 ½ hours and cover
a total distance of 2 km. and will lead you along several
interconnected woodland trails. The terrain is relatively dry, but
somewhat rough with roots, some debris and uneven ground. The
complete search can be accomplished by staying on these trails.
Four mini caches are hidden on or near the trail. Hints or
coordinates found at the mini cache sites will guide you along the
way (no math involved).
Watch and listen for deer, owls and pileated woodpeckers.
To access this cache, park at the Dr. W.A. MacLeod School and
hike up through the play equipment and field to the power line. The
woodland trail begins at coordinates N 45 32.550 W 062
40.200 on the power line. From here, leave the power line and
hike up the trail to coordinates N 45 32.471 W 062 40.420
where the trail divides. Bear left and go 46 paces to some
windfalls that fell across the trail. Check around where the hole
is cut through the windfalls and “Do not leave a stone unturned” to
find your first mini cache with the next set of instructions.
The main cache consists of a well hidden yellow plastic toolbox
containing regular cache items.
