Geocache Description:

The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department inconjunction with the Waukesha Downtown Business Association welcomes you and your family to this event celebrating the release of the newest book in this series .. this time with a Geocaching Twist!

Saturday, July 16th

Downtown Waukesha will be the new world of Harry Potter with the "Big Harry Deal" event. This is a special Geocachers option being planned for you and your family.

A series of both temporary (20ish Saturday only - 10ish all weekend) and regular geocaches (launched already) are being planned in and around the down town area of the City of Waukesha. Knowledge of the Harry Potter story will be helpful but not necessary to pursue the caches.

You will be able to park your car at any of the downtown street or parking lots and walk to many/ most of the caches because our event headquarters will almost be the center point.

Morning Check in: between 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the coordinates given above - corner near Cuddles Hallmark. Sign in, down load coordinates and get going! (Garmin units are no problem, working on Magellan units.)

Afternoon Check in: between 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM at T-Rex Pizza (N 43 00.695 W 88 13.895). This will be our Geocachers meet and greet opportunity. Come share your geocaching stories and trade those travel bugs. A family priced meal deal or order by the slice will be available/ optional (order/ pay on your own). Even if you decide you do not want to search caches, stop in during this time to say hello. If you missed the morning check in, stop here to download coordinates to join us for the afternoon.

This event is is being planned by: Sue Harter, Recreation Supervisor with the Waukesha, Parks, Recreation and Forestry Dept.
Geocaching assistance provided by Renee Vanselow "AuntieNae" and Brian Tapp of "TheTapps".

Not able to join us on Saturday? We will make the coordinates available for the temporary caches via email on Saturday evening - hunt them on Sunday before they are retrieved that evening.

We hope you are able to join us! Please post a note for planning purposes below. If you will be joining us for pizza, please give us a head count so we can give T-Rex a rough count for faster service. If you are planning to search the caches on Sunday, post a note so we know who to email the coordinates to on Saturday evening.

This "GPS Scavenger Hunt" is only a small part of the downtown festivities!
