Geocache Description:

Helidocs Railroad History Series #3

Until the late 1980s, Route 173 through Caledonia used to course to the north of its present location. It took an S curve using this Chicago Northwestern overpass. 173 then joined up with its current route on the east end of town. ( Look at the Topozone map, it still shows the original road)

From the bike path this seems like another simple bridge – but from underneath(hint), you will this is quite an impressive, almost overbuilt structure unlike any of the other bridges on this railroad line.

This cache is a 30 cal OD ammo can with the usual stuff. Good luck!
