Using the letters worked out previously, the cache is hidden at the following co-ordinates
N 57 BE.CAB W002 CC.DA(F-7)
The cache is in a medium sized Tupperware style box, and contains all the usual goodies. Don’t make swaps too big. The First To Find bonus is separate to the main cache as it wouldn’t fit in the box.
Allow about an hour and a half for this cache (more with kids), and enjoy the pleasant walks and nature en-route. There is a kids play area tucked away, and the usual quality tea-room open spring to autumn. Don’t forget to bring some bread for the ducks.
History
Unusual for Aberdeenshire in that it is not a castle, Haddo House is proud to be the most homely of the Northeast of Scotland’s great houses open to the public. Designed by William Adam for the 2nd Earl of Aberdeen in 1732, but refurbished in the 1880s, the House elegantly blends crisp Georgian architecture with sumptuous late Victorian interiors by Wright and Mansfield. Noted for its fine furniture, paintings and objets d’art, Haddo also boasts a delightful terrace garden with geometric rosebeds and fountain, commemorative trees, a lavish herbaceous border and secluded glades and knolls. A magnificent avenue of lime trees leads to Haddo Country Park with its lakes, monuments, walks and wildlife.
We thank Aberdeenshire Council for granting permission to place this cache.
