Geocache Description:

Set in Benderloch a small village 7 miles north of Oban. The starting point is the forestry comission car park at N56 29 289 W 005 24 208 It is about a 2-3 hour walk. I have rated this as a three star difficulty and four star for terrain. This is due to the fact that this is a multi cache you will have to do some workings to find the final cache site. This is at the top of Beinn Lora at 308 metres.

I visited this place about 2 years ago and my friend Chris pointed out that i had in fact failed to reach the now cache site. It has wonderful panoramic view over looking the surrounding area and even although when we did it, it was a wee bit wet. Headley my dog thought it was a nice place and please note that from the point you go through the gate your dog will have to be on its lead. Also at this point the path is a lot harder to follow so take care, we noted that some of those stones are a little slick in the wet. Its is also a little boggy in places , Headley was very muddy my the end.

Now on to the cache its self when we were there in May the blue bells and wild garlic were in full bloom and the lower section was very lovely. We can also recommend the garage just in front of the car park for any last minute goodies , hats, walking sticks,food and also a free map from the North Argyll Forestry Commission. From the car park take the blue route following the well defined paths up. I would recommend boots although in good weather it should be possible in normal shoes. However as with every other climb be careful. At the first way point you will find some numbers on the trig point.Enter them in to the grid below and complete the workings out.

A= B= C= D= E=

North is 56 29 B (D+A) (E+A)
West is 005 22 E (C-A) (C+A+A)

You my now should have the co-ordinates for the final part.

Why this place i hear you ask, well i thought the area needed one. Down in Hampshire we are use to having lots of caches to go for so another in this area will i think help. Please let me know if there are any problems and i hope you enjoy the walk and views.

This cache has been set up with the help of my friend Chris who has now been up the hill many times. Chris lives in the area and has agreed to keep an eye on it for me.
