Located on the South coast of Jersey, Channel Islands. Suggested parking position is N49 10.477 W002 10.909. Portlet common presents a mix of dramatic sea views and a habitat typicalof an area subjected to the prevailingsouthwesterly wind.
The common comprises thickgorsecover, dwarf shrub heathland andlichen-rich grassland, it is managed for nature conservation and is a proposed site of specil interest (SSI).
The common lies 54-61m abovesea level and covers an area of some 31hectares.
Contents of the cache: Travel bug, FM radio with earphones, keyring, sea shell book, picture frame, small china cup, yo-yo, a bookmark, badge, money and a couple of other small knicknacks.
