Liz Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

ILReviewer: As I indicated on May 19, I granted an exception to the lack of maintenance and unarchived the cache, but indicated that the cache needed to be enabled by the end of May. I've now even given an extra 12 days beyond that in hopes that this would happen and it hasn't.

The cache is now being archived due to a lack of maintenance.

Geocache Description:

Short walk from parking. Easily accessible. Pets ok. **Bring a pen**

Among the many wonderful blocks in this historic village lies this little gem of a street in the very heart of our town. Ringed by the architectural drama of Frank Lloyd Wright and others notable artisans, Elizabeth Court reveals a variety of architectural styles packed into a short meander. The coords are only for parking on Kenilworth at the east end of the street near a cul-de-sac. A short walk will bring you to the Mrs. (Laura) Thomas Gale house, one of FLW's prairie masterpieces and the only one of his homes on this block. Within eyesight, on public property, you will spy a symbol representing pre-automobile transportation, common at the inception of this neighborhood. Find this landmark and the cache itself will be a short reach away. You are seeking a small, (micro) sized container containing only a log sheet **NO PENCIL**
Now private, an old walking trail led from this point into the "woods" behind the Street of Dreams, past coach houses and eventually out to Chicago Ave. Please be mindful of the residents and any muggles. No part of this hunt requires stepping onto private property, as the village maintains an easement.
From the west end of Elizabeth Ct. at Forest Ave., walking north or south will reveal more inspiring architecture. Walk north to the FLW Home and Studio and stop by the gift shop or even take a tour, if time permits. Continue east to Kenilworth and back south to the parking coords, passing other historic homes along the way.
Please see www.oprf.com for more detail on village history.
