This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi armyrotc1
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

You may email me at via the link to my profile on the log. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GCxxxx number, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in one of the most beautiful, but little known areas on the Monterey Peninsula. It is off of Sunset Drive in Pacific Grove within a stone throw of the Pacific Ocean.

This cache is in a very pretty spot with opportunities for couples to share a moment watching the sunset or for families to search through endless tidepools while the dogs run free through the sandunes.

To start your short journey to this cache you will need to park on the obvious dirt turnout along Sunset Drive. The coordinates for parking are N 36* 37.971' W 121* 56.258'

After everyone gets ready to head out you will notice a very well defined sand trail that leads through the sandunes to the rocky beach a little more than a tenth of a mile away. Take this trail and eventually you will have walked through the sand and will find yourself down on a rocky beach with many opportunities to have fun rock-hopping. A great picture opportunity can be had on top of the larger rock formation that towers over the tidepools. Also be on the lookout for whales (a seasonal opportunity), deer, red fox, all assortments of birds, sea otters, seals, and tidepool critters. Just remeber to leave the tidepool animals where you found them!

But you are all here to find a cache first. You will notice that there are two logs right at the border of where all the rocks begin and the sandunes end. As you face the ocean the log on the right side is where the coordinates will take you. The location of the cache should be fairly obvious after a brief inspection of the log. If it is not so obvious, then check out the clue.

The cache is a fairly normal size (a tennis ball container). It is clearly labeled. The original contents of the cache are as follows:

1 logbook
1 pen
1 Key to My Castle travel bug
1 Smokey the Bear token
1 "digital fish"
1 rubber animal ball

As always good luck and happy hunting!
