Tuscobia Trailhead Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: I noticed that this cache has remained temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of a few weeks as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. For now, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact me at the below e-mail address when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

If you haven?t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past.

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

This micro is a black hide-a-key box hidden in the park.

The Tuscobia State Trail is an abandoned railroad grade that runs from Park Falls to Rice Lake. ATVs are allowed on this multi-use trail on a 62-mile stretch beginning at the Park Falls trailhead and traveling west to Birchwood. Traveling along the trail you will encounter a variety of scenery from wooded sections to open farmland. The Park Falls – Tuscobia Trailhead Park is the perfect location to begin your journey with ample parking, loading ramp, flush toilets, a jungle gym and a picnic area. Along the trail you will find services including lodging, camping, gas and restaurants. The trail is open for ATV use April 15 through November 15 and for snowmobile use December 2 through March 31.

If you take the ATV trail to the edge of the woods, you'll get a good view of many birds (there are many birdhouses in the marsh) and probably some deer along the way. A wetland restoration project resulted in the 5 acre pond that supports the waterfowl population. There is also a walking trail; check out the sign by the parking lot to see where they lead.
