Clinton Lake Island Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rattlingcrew: The state has an alarming number of disabled caches. The weather or shotguns in this case, have beat us up pretty hard. Let me know if you get the cache replaced. Thanks, Glen

Geocache Description:

This hydro-cache is only boat accessible!

The Clinton Lake area has several GeoCaches, but I wanted to make something unique, a Hydro-Cache! Load up that kayak or canoe, or gas up your runabout boat and head out to the lake! Any loading ramp will do if you bring a motorized boat, but I would suggest launching the kayak or canoe from the ramps in Bloomington Camp Ground, near the town of Clinton. The Cache is a large ammo can. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM TO THIS CACHE! Please use caution when boating, pay attention to the weather. The island is surrounded by extensive mud flats. It is very shallow all around the island. I was able to land a 16 foot aluminum flat-bottom fishing boat on the West side of the island. This cache is not for the timid.

As all Kansas State Parks and Federal Parks, there is a fee per car to drive into the park. You can buy daily passes or annuals permits.
