Northampton County Covered Bridge Tour

Kreidersville Bridge is the only remaining covered bridge in Northampton County. Solt Mill covered bridge in Allen Township was built in 1839, it’s closed to traffic. Unlike most of the covered bridges in Lehigh County, this one does not cross Jordan Creek. It crosses Hokendauqua Creek. Its span is 116 feet.
This bridge is two years older than Bogert's Bridge, the oldest in Lehigh County, and Wehr's Bridge that makes Kreidersville Bridge among the nation's oldest, its 1839 date makes it quite old, as the birthday plaque shows
This bridge has no openings either in the way of windows nor openings under the eaves. It is a very dark interior.

Every even year in the first weekend in June there is a covered bridge festival including a pig roaster, duck race, horse and buggy rides, tractor rides, live music, crafts and old historic pictures of the area.

This is a wonderful place to go fishing have a picnic or just come to the bridge for a new experience. There’s a gazebo there where you can have a beautiful wedding or renew your vows. Be stealth there might be people fishing or swimming in the swimming hole, or maybe a wedding that might be going on that day. Early Spring and after hard rain the cache area maybe muddy. Thanks.
