Go to www.jcfd3.com and find the encrypted message you must decipher in order to get directions to the cache.
Decode the directions for finding the cache by using the six fire and life safety messages you will find at the given location.
Designate the sign directly in front of these coordinates as sign “A”. Designate the next sign to the right (east) of sign “A” as sign “B”, etc., all the way up to sign “F”.
You will want to have a notebook or graph paper with you to make the task of breaking this code easier. Please do not write on or mark the signs in any way.
Number the letters forming the message on each board from “1” to the end of the message. Number the letters on each consecutive message this same way, using that particular sign’s letter (B-1, B-2, B-3, / C-1, C-2…).
Do not count spaces between words or punctuation – just count the letters forming the words of the message only.
For example, the letters on sign “A” are identified as;
F = A-1
i = A-2
r = A-3
e = A-4
s = A-5, etc.
Use this code to break the encrypted message you will find on the District’s web page.
