Geocache Description:

This is a micro containing the coordinates to a local Geocaching Event called "The Declination of Independence". Please bring a pen to sign the log and copy the coordinates. Be sure and leave the coordinates in the container for the next person!

"The Declination of Independence" is a Geocaching Event located about 10 minutes from Nacogdoches, TX. The festivities begin at 2:00 P.M. on July 2, 2005.
The coordinates for the party can be found in the above micro and in several other local caches named after our Founding Fathers. Go ahead and hunt for them all, but you only need to find one to know where the party is.
There will be modern amenities, including several restrooms.
We'll be cooking hot dogs after the "Cache Dash", and we'll have snacks, tea, and water. Feel free to bring a cooler with your snacks and drinks of choice. (BYOB)
The "Cache Dash" will be a race to collect as many cache points as you can in a certain amount of time. Here are the details:

* You can go solo or as a team (up to 3) but it's up to you how to divide the Grand Prize should you win. (No fighting please!) Each entry must have at least one GPSr. (We're assuming you have one already- you found the place!)
* There will be many caches hidden that vary in type, difficulty, and terrain. The more difficult the cache, the more points its worth. The Grand Prize Winner will be either the first team to find all the caches, or the team with the most points at the end of the time limit. (probably 4 hours, but this may change) You'll be able to choose whether to rack up all the quick and easy ones, or focus on a few more difficult (but valuable) caches. Several of you can probably find them all, so then it may come down to speed.
* We've got a lot of room, but there will be a few muggles around- each other !!! Be smart, and use stealth when necessary.
* There will be a few caches with nice swag/prizes/travel bugs. Take one prize per team per cache. (Some caches will have a limited amount, going to the first teams to find)
* The Grand Prize will be a KERSHAW OUTCAST BOLO KNIFE! This will make a NICE addition to your caching equpiment or your collection.

We look forward to meeting all our fellow local cachers. Be prepared for a fun day of caching and socializing!
If you have any questions, or need more specific directions, don't hesitate to call me. (Clay 936-366-0623)If I don't answer, just leave your name and number and I'll call you back ASAP. If you are unable or do not have time to find the cords, you may call me and I'll give them to you. (we want everyone to be able to make it, one way or another!)

See you on July 2!
