Geocache Description:

THE COORDINATES ABOVE ARE A FAKE AND WILL ONLY TAKE YOU TO A SPOT IN THE WOODS BUT NOT TO THE CACHE ITSELF.

Real coordinates for this cache require you to start with Go 190 : CHESS – Board&Pieces. GCP6P5

This is one of seven caches in the series GO 190 CHESS. To complete this multi/mystery you will have to find them all.

The King is only allowed to move one step in either direction. Movements are restricted to squares that are not possible to reach by the opponents pieces. When the King is standing on a square that is reached by pieces from the opponent he is standing Chess and is required to either move out of this position or strike the piece causing chess. It will like all other pieces strike another piece by moving to a square already occupied by an opponents piece.

Here we will look at the legal movements only and not dive into the strategy of playing the game.

The King must only move in either of 8 directions. It may not jump over other pieces but may strike an opponents piece by moving to the opponents square. In this way a maximum of 8 different squares can be reached. During normal play several of these are either occupied by your own pieces or perhaps not strikable when occupied by an opponent.

As an example if the King is positioned at F3 the following squares are reachable : F2, F4, E3, G3, E4, G4, E2, G2.

Your target is to move to one of these squares and find the next cache. In this cache a guideline to what piece you shall move like next is found.

The cache is found at the following offset from the theoretical centre coordinates : +N 0 0.000 +E 0 0.001. The accuracy was +- 5 m at the measuring occasion.

The cache contains from start a 0,4 l plastic flat container with a logg book, pencil and a stash note. You will find additional help for finding the next cache there too.
