This cache was placed with maingray on the Occoneechee Speedway Trail. You can walk part of the old racetrack to the winner's circle.
The Occoneechee Speedway was one of the Early NASCAR Tracks developed by Bill France. Last year the track area was turn into a park / Trail. The trails are a great walk and you can imagine what things were like with a race going on with the stands and the banks of the track still in place.
Parking/ Trail Head is located on Elizabeth Brady Rd.
Just .5 miles north of NC 86/US 70 AE intersection.
