Our family
loves to visit El Capitan and Refugio State Beaches several
times each year and we always wish there were more caches
around. We placed this small cache on a side path, mid-way
along the beautiful ocean-view bike path between El Capitan
and Refugio. It overlooks a beautiful bike accessible beach
which you'll have all to yourselves.

View of the beach from near the
cache.
The
cache container is a smallish sun-dried tomato jar painted
grey. It's hidden near a small knoll with nice views of the
beach below, but will require some minor bushwhacking as the
'trails' are a little overgrown. Finally, if you try to park
along 101 to retrieve the cache, you'll be crossing an active
railway along a surfer's path, so it's much better to approach from
Refugio state beach. Access is via a beautiful 1.5 mile
ride/walk along the bike path from Refugio State Beach. The
path is closed between the cache and El Capitan.
Enjoy!
