Nore Hill and Woods are owned by the National Trust and are part of the larger Slindon Estate.
Built in the latter half of the 18th Century, Nore (Slindon) Folly, is a bizarre structure resembling a tunnel entrance or gateway that leads nowhere. It has been postulated that the design was based upon an Italian Archway in a painting owned by the Earl and Countess of Newburgh, whose family seat was at Slindon.
From the Folly there are excellent views of Slindon, the surrounding countryside and, on clear days, the coast at Bognor Regis (Butlins!), Chichester Cathedral, and Halnaker Windmill.
There is a Trig Point, (TP6383), next to the Folly
The cache is a 2.6litre lock and lock Tupperware type container.
