Vehicle parking and the trail head are located at the coordinates: N 45 27.907 W 122 52.314 The trail meanders through THPRD's Northridge Park and greenspace. The trail can become overgrown with blackberry bushes and may be slippery when wet. Be prepared to step over a lot of fallen trees and limbs.
This is our first cache placement. We've chosen an area near our home where we've seen no other caches placed thus far.
The beginning part of the trail winds past a spot where neighborhood kids have built a tree fort and left a big mess. This would be an ideal place for some CITO action, so bring a trash bag. Watch for rusty nails in this area.
This isn't really a shorts and sandals kind of trail, nor will the wee munchkins probably enjoy it. Our small eight year old daughter did just fine though, so older kiddos will be able to handle it without trouble.
We saw deer while visiting the space, so watch for local suburban wildlife. You'll be following a pretty obvious pathway, then a deer trail. No true bushwhacking is required. If you don't have seasonal allergies, don't forget to smell the flowers. : )
