Geocache Description:

The cache is a magnetic micro, which should be a quick and easy grab. Cache is available 24 hours a day, but if you come during business hours, you'll be able to explore this well-stocked, locally-owned business. The coordinates might not be great (there's some building cover), but you'll know you're in the right spot when you see it. Bring your own pen, and please use stealth as always - this can be a busy place. Please read entire cache description before you log your find.

Before I started geocaching, I used to read a lot. For example, in 2004 I read 119 books for pleasure. This year . . . not so many. (Maybe because I'm spending all my time geocaching! ). Still, I think books are terrific, and I've been in the mood to curl up with a book lately, and I'd like to see what everyone else is reading. So, I decided to start up my own little geocaching "book club," and anyone is welcome to join. After you find the cache, when you log your visit on the website, recommend a book that you enjoyed, and tell me why you liked it. It doesn't have to be a long review - just a couple of sentences is fine. If you haven't read a book in a while, that's all right, too - you can recommend an old favourite. Raptor loves to read, too - in fact, he's just started our local library's Summer Reading Challenge (this is his second year participating) - so books you loved as a child would be great here, too. When claiming this find, please give a book recommendation, even if it's just the title of a book you liked.

Like it says above, the cache should be easy to find, and is handicapped accessible. There is a Where's George $1 bill for FTF. Also, there was no room in the cache, but if FTF would like one of my new Raptor & Rex patches, just drop me an e-mail with a mailing address after you log the find, and I'll be happy to send you one in the post.

My book recommendation is "The Life of Pi" by Yann Martel, which was an amazing, beautiful book. I enjoyed this more than any book I've read in years, and I read some excellent books last year. After I'd read the final page, I read it again, disappointed that there wasn't more, I almost couldn't bear for it to be over. As most people know, it's about a boy who gets shipwrecked on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. The first part of the story takes place in India, and tells of Pi's life and especially his spiritual journey, in which he decides that Christianity, Hinduism and Islam are all true faiths, and he wants to practice all three of them. Then, once he and his family get on a boat to Canada, a whole new adventure begins. If you haven't read this book, I highly, highly recommend it, and I think it would be appropriate for younger people, as well (teenagers, maybe even a bit younger).
