papasee: The container had leaked and the contents were muck. Since I was not prepared to replace it, I will archive it since I will not be in the area for a year. papasee

The container for the first stage of this multi-stage cache is a 2 inch diameter by 6 inch long black pvc pipe, capped at one end and with a screw-in cap at the other end. (Note: Do not screw the cap in too tight, it will bind and be hard to remove).
Granite Creek Hot Springs Swimming Pool is located in the Gros Ventre Mountain Range. It is accessed on a ten mile gravel/dirt/bumpy/washboard forest road from US highway 189/191. The road ends at the swimming pool parking lot. The road is bumpy but passenger cars and RV's have no problem on the road, and snowmobiles do it in the winter. The turnoff from highway 189/191 is between Hoback Jct. and Bondurant. The coordinates of the turnoff are approximately at N 43 16.987, W 110 32.050.
There is a forest service campground with 53 campsites about one mile from the pool, and a beautiful waterfalls on Granite Creek between the campground and the pool. There are numerous hiking/backpacking trails in the area.
I'm including some photos of the swimming pool, and the waterfalls.
The cache should be accessible in the winter for snowmobiling geocachers (or is it geocaching snowmobilers)! The cache is close to the road between the campground and the swimming pool parking lot. The elevation of the pool is about 7000 feet.
When you find the first cache it will give you coordinates to the next virtual cache location. It will also ask you two questions. You'll find the answer to the two questions at the second cache location. To log your find, e-mail me the two answers. Please don't list the answers when you log on the cache page.
When you've finished finding the answers, then take a soak in the pool, which was built in 1933 by the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps}. You can also soak in some natural pools just below the waterfalls.
