Gustaf Dalén (1869-1937) är ett stort namn i svensk teknikhistoria. Han uppfann bland annat en solventil (1907) så att gasförbrukningen i fyrar kunde minskas med 95 %.
1912 blev Gustaf Dalén blind vid en gasexplosion. Samma år fick han Nobelpriset i fysik.

Gustaf Dalén (1869-1937) is a famous person in Swedish engineering history. He invents among other things a sun valve (1907). The sun valve cut down the gas consumption in lighthouses with 95 %.
In a gas explosion 1912 Gustaf Dahlén become blind, the same year he got the Nobel price in physics.
