Located in Drexel Lodge Park in Newtown Square, PA. Terrain for part 2 is a semi-developed trail leading into the woods. Difficulty is 2, Terrain 1.5
Updating the cache with new Stage 1 location since even I was unable to find it.
Placement of this cache coordinates with the Delaware County Amateur Radio Association’s (DCARA) Field Day taking place on June 25, 2005 in Drexel Lodge Park. Finding this cache requires de-coding Morse code clues. First to Find prize is a tee shirt from the American Radio Relay League. Also in this park is the Newtown Square PRR Freight Museum Railroad with several old Pennsylvania Railroad cars.
This is a two stage cache, both stages within an easy walk of the parking area. The coordinates listed are for the entrance to the park. Stage 1 is a small plastic bottle that contains the encoded clue for stage 2, a regular Tupperware container containing some pins from the DCARA along with other swag.
Stage 1 N/S coordinates are 39.58.873. To find the E/W, find the small steam engine on the property. Add the engine number to the last two digits in W 075.25.227. Once you find Stage 1, decode the Morse Code message to get the coordinates to Stage 2. Stage 2 is located along a loosely developed trail. Some bushwhacking may be required. The dense forest canopy makes getting a good signal a little more difficult. Watch out for poison ivy. Park is open dawn to dusk.
