The next time you think you're sliding backwards through life, consider this tale:

Years ago, not far from this very spot, town folks would gather in a smoky dance club called The Sierra Slide. Every Saturday night there was a tango contest that drew dozens of dancing teams. A burly local man named Victor (who always danced with a different partner) was the long time reigning champion. He learned his amazing moves from a Zulu chieftain while stationed in deepest Africa.

“Bravo,” the other dancers at The Sierra would chant as the two worked their magic on the dance floor. One night a strange visitor named Romeo showed up at the club to challenge the reigning tango champ. He was dressed in a dapper uniform, having traveled by riverboat from the Mississippi delta.

But Romeo had a different method of winning the crown. He hired several goons employed by Tonya Harding to break the knees of the current dancing champ in the club‘s dark parking lot. The sneak attack wasn’t successful. The x-ray proved negative.
