Geocache Description:

This cache is located off the trail behind the Platt Nature Center in Killingworth http://klct.homestead.com/PNC.html There is a small parking lot onsite (344 Roast Meat Hill Road, which is north off of Route 80 or south off of Route 148).

Platt Nature Center and the surrounding area is owned by the Killingworth Land Conservation Trust, which is dedicated to preserving the rural character and open space in Killingworth. The trail begins and ends at the back of the building on the property. When starting for the cache bear right (that is the trail head). This is an easy walk, and you can bring the kids. The trail from start to finish is only about a quarter mile, so you can take your time. You'll walk along old stone walls and unique rock formations and will take a short plank walk over some wetlands. Short amount of bushwacking. The only inconvenience is some patches of low pricker bushes off-trail.

Here is a picture of the cache and its initial contents.

This cache is also the starting point for Swinging-Hips Elvis as he tries to get to Las Vegas and back. Click here to read about his travels.
