Geocache Description:


The mother of all melaleucas is located in this park. This park boasts the first melaleuca tree introduced to Southeast Florida, the tree was planted in either 1912 or 1914. The melaleuca was introduced from Australia to help use up water in the Everglades. The meleluca now covers 489,000 acres in South Florida and is a major pest of natural areas.

This is a passive park with , picnic areas & a small playground Open 9:00 a.m. to dusk.

**Please note that this cache is located in the park and NOT on private property.....You are looking for a 4 inch by 4 inch Lock&Lock container that contains a small log book and small trading items.
