The Indiana Spirit Quest series of geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries built by Hoosier Pioneers. In just over a year and a half, the quest has grown to over two hundred forty caches hidden in twenty-three Indiana counties, and the hiders have grown to ten cacher teams, six of which are comprised of A Man and His Dog, one of which is A Couple and Their Three Dogs ... and one who is a Dog and her Woman. 390 cacher teams have logged over 4,556 finds.

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST #280

”PC Correct or Incorrect?"

This cache will surely raise some issues regarding history and political correctness, past and present. There are at least 27 people buried here. Most of the original markers are gone because they were wooden? Interesting the cemetery was established in 1836, however on the listing for the cemetery (http://www.bccn.boone.in.us/tpl/genealogy/Cemeteries/colorcemetery.pdf) the earliest date of death was 1882. No records were kept before that year? So then how many people are really buried here? Maybe more answers can be found at the Thorntown Heritage Museum located at 124 W. Main St. (State road 47) Thorntown. The Thorntown Heritage Museum is open Fridays 4-7 PM; Saturdays 11-5, and Sundays 1-4 PM, holiday Mondays 1-4 PM, Wednesdays 11-4 PM. Main Exhibit Gallery, May through September.

The cache container is a 35mm film container. Please leave it at least as well concealed, if not better, than you found it. If you find fallen or worn US flags at the graves of veterans, please take a moment to upright or replace them. Dispose of worn US flags in a respectable manner. If you find the coordinates to be a little off, do not hesitate to post a waypoint with your log. As always, be respectful, and cache in, trash out.
